Double Trouble - The Twins in My Life: Part One

I have a lot of twins in my life - some are friends, some are family, and some are classmates. Twins are supposed to be rare but they sure seem to happen a lot in my neck of the woods! Today, I'm going to introduce you to my cousins, Saige and Simone, and their dogs, Coco and Marc.

Saige and Marc are on the left, and Simone and Coco are on the right. Aren't they a fashionable bunch?

Red hair runs in my family - can you tell?

Saige is older than Simone by about two minutes, but you can't really tell - especially because Simone acts like she thinks she's a grown up!

A few years ago, Saige and Simone got to pick out one pet each - they both chose dogs! This is Coco - she's a Pomeranian who belongs to Simone.

This is Saige's dog, Marc. Both Saige and Simone named their dogs after famous fashion designers. Can you guess which ones?

Simone has green eyes and bright red hair that is long and wavy. She's also quite tall!

Saige has blue eyes, long and wavy auburn hair, and freckles. While she and Simone look very alike, they are not identical. They are fraternal twins, or rather, because they are both girls, sororal twins. Interesting, huh?

Do you know anyone who is a twin or are you a twin yourself? Let me know in the comments!

Hot Air Balloon Ride

Last year, I got to ride in a hot air balloon all by myself! We didn't get a lot of pictures, but I figured you guys would want to see them anyway! My friend Georgie and my cousin Saige also took a ride. Have you ever seen a hot air balloon in person?

Doesn't my cousin Saige look like such a natural at this? She has a twin sister named Simone; I'll introduce you to her later.

I was nervous, but I tried not to show it. We were really high up in that thing!

Once you were up in the sky, though, it all felt so open and free!

Georgie looked a little nervous, but she also handled it like a natural!

Check out that view! Have you ever taken a ride on a hot air balloon?

Harper Spends the Night

Hello all! Charlie here. Before I moved, my friend Harper came to spend the night at my old house. I was super excited! Harper is a total fashionista, and she lives downtown with her dad, who is a lawyer. In fact, he named her Harper Leigh because the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" inspired him to become a lawyer (he just changed the spelling of her name). Neat huh? Anyway, Harper being the high-maintenance girl that she is, is incapable of packing lightly...

...So needless to say, when she arrived with several bags, I greeted her and immediately was bombarded while she unloaded her stuff!

First she brought out her Kanani doll! I was so excited to play dolls with Harper while she spent the night!

Then she started unpacking her sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas - everything! Geeze Louise, Harper, it's only one night...

Her sleeping bag landed on my head in the midst of her unpacking madness!

"Whoops! Sorry!" Harper said. "I guess I got a little excited there."

Harper did a double take. "Charlie!" she exclaimed. "What is with these split ends?! Girl, you need a makeover!"

"I do?" I asked. "Well, okay then. Let's get out my vanity and get to it!"

"Now let's get started!" Harper said.

First, she brushed my hair...

Then, she flat ironed it...

And then we had the big reveal!
"Do you like it?" Harper asked.

"I love it!" I replied.

"Thank you, Harper! It's beautiful!"

Then, my Mom and Dad had pizza delivered and we had sodas too! My Mom said that the caffeine might make us loopy so I promised we would try not to overdo it.

Harper and I watched a ballet movie, because we both are enrolled in the Ballet West Academy along with my friend, Isabelle. It was a great movie! My Mom made us cupcakes to enjoy with our pizza while we watched the movie. Thanks Mom!

After the movie, we played with our dolls. I have Molly and Emily, and Harper brought her Kanani doll. We had a great time playing with them! They're my favorite toys and I love them so much.

Harper loved playing with my Emily doll. Emily and Kanani became great friends!

It was getting late, so I decided to put Molly to bed, and we were soon to follow.

We got into our pajamas, and I helped Harper get her sleeping bag ready.

Rory tried to help us, but he really only got in the way. Silly Rory!

Then we said good night!

My Mom said we were both out as soon as our heads hit the pillow. We had had a busy night!

Fall Apple Picking

Every year, my family and I go to a local orchard and pick apples in the fall. The orchard makes their own delicious apple cider, and they also sell lots of other local goodies, like honey, salsa, and jam. Yum!

The orchard at one point was outside of our city, but our city has grown so much since then that it now resides in the middle of it. Neat, huh? This was taken on the way to the orchard in my Grandma and Grandpa A's car.

Once we got there, I started picking like crazy! The apples were HUGE!

My mom and grandma helped to lift me up to reach the apples I wanted. They're the best!

My arms were really tired by the end of the day, but I was happy we went.

On our way out, I also got a pumpkin! Fun! I crawled into the back of my Grandma and Grandpa A's car along with our bounty of apples, cider, and HUGE bottle of honey!

Have you ever been apple picking before?

Baseball Championships!

Hi everyone! I love that fall is just around the corner, don't you? The only thing I don't like about fall is that means baseball season comes to a close, including the baseball team I'm on with my BFF Margot. I wasn't able to play for most of the season this year because of my broken leg, but once it healed, my coach was nice enough to let me come back and play! We had our championship games recently, and although we ultimately didn't win the championship trophy, I still love to play the game! Check out these pictures that we took before playing the last game of the season:

Margot likes to wear silly patterned socks with her baseball uniform. In this picture, she's got bunny socks on! She says her silly socks are her good luck charm. Do you have any good luck charms?

Although I'll miss baseball season, I love fall - the World Series is on TV, school starts again, my ballet and clarinet lessons ramp up, not to mention that everything is pumpkin flavored, and most of all, Halloween! I can't wait to show you all of my fall adventures this year. We're going apple picking soon. Do you have any fall traditions?
