Trick or Treating 2014

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Today marks my favorite holiday! My friends Georgie, Callie, and Harper went trick-or-treating with me. I was the Big Bad Wolf & the 3 Little Pigs (with their houses on my treat bag!). Harper was a princess (as if!), and Georgie and Callie were fairies! Check out our trick-or-treating pics below:

What did you dress up as for Halloween this year?

Pumpkin Carving with Callie and Georgie

Happy Halloween y'all!

Welcome to the first of my Halloween posts - I will post another one Friday after my friends and I are done trick-or-treating. Tonight, my friends Georgie and Callie (who are identical twins) came to carve pumpkins with me, my parents, and my Grandma and Grandpa A.

I picked out a huge pumpkin, while Georgie and Callie both brought smaller pumpkins. As always, they picked out ones that looked exactly alike! (If you haven't guessed, Georgie is in orange, and Callie is in black.) We also had some pumpkin pie flavored soda (it was really sweet and yummy!), and some popcorn while we carved our pumpkins.

My Grandpa cut open and gutted the pumpkins for us, so we wouldn't have to do the dangerous or yucky parts. We used knives to carve the pumpkins because my parents and grandparents were there to help us - you should never use knives by yourself!

We took the tops off of our pumpkins...

"Let's make them all have faces!" Callie suggested.

"Okay!" said Georgie. "I want mine to have a scared face!"

They drew the faces on their pumpkins...

...And we picked up our knives carefully...

...and we began to carve!

Soon, we were done carving!

All of our pumpkins had awesome funny faces!

"Hey Georgie!" I said. "Check it out!"

"My pumpkin is eating your pumpkin!"

We all laughed really hard at that! We also had a good laugh because it looked like Callie's pumpkin was happy to get away!

This was definitely one of my favorite Halloween moments in my life so far!

What are your favorite Halloween moments?

Picking Pumpkins

Hola! (That's about all the Spanish I speak.)

This weekend, my family and I went on a road trip to a nearby small town to eat lunch and pick our pumpkins to carve for Halloween! Here are some pictures we took along the drive.

My dad thought that this fence was a perfect spot to take pictures! I think he was right.

Next, I picked out some pumpkins. My mom wanted to take pictures of me posing next to them. I thought it might be silly, but it turned out really cute.

After all the day trips, food, and cutesy pumpkin pictures, I was tired. What a day! Once I'm not so tired, I'll be carving the pumpkins and sharing the results with you!

I just love everything fall. Do you have any fall traditions?

The First Day of School, Part II: The Science Lesson

Harper and I sat eagerly awaiting our first lesson of the year.

It has a science lesson, our teacher told us! Science is by far my favorite subject. I want to study time travel someday!

Harper and I decided to be lab partners. Harper put on the lab goggles first.

"Eww," Harper said. "These don't match my outfit at all! You do the lab work today; I'll be your lovely assistant!"

I took off my glasses. It was time to get down to business.

I think I look pretty fabulous! Smart chic, right?

First, we were going to use our microscope to see cells of various plants and animals. Cool, huh?

"Here is the page, Charlie!" Harper said. "I'll go get the slides!"

I set up the microscope. I just love discovering new things!

"Here are your microscope slides, Doctor Charlie!" Harper exclaimed.

"Thank you, My Lovely Assistant Harper!" I replied.

"Shall we study wild violets today, Doctor Charlie?" she asked.

"We shall!" I replied.

"EGAD, HARPER!" I yelled, throwing my hands up in the air.

"What is it, Doctor Charlie?"

"I don't know; that's just something scientists say, right?" I said. "Now, it is time for chemistry!"

"Let's see what we have here!"

"GADZOOKS!" I yelled. "This is the missing compound, Lovely Assistant Harper!"

I replaced the vial in its proper place. Harper and I high-fived in triumph!

"Thank you, Lovely Assistant Harper!"

"You're welcome, Doctor Charlie!"

Well, that's it! I just love science class. What's your favorite subject in school?
